Mr. Perera is a Fellow Member of ACCA (UK), fellow member of CIMA (UK), Fellow Member of the CMA of Sri Lanka, Associate Member of the ICA of Sri Lanka, an Associate Member of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka, Fellow Member of the Certified Professional Managers of Sri Lanka, and he has a MBA from the post graduate Institute of Management, and he has a post graduate diploma in diplomatic and world affairs. He was the former Chairman of ACCA Sri Lanka and was a governing council member of the Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka and CIMA (UK) Sri Lanka division.
